Version of 21 October 2026
This End User License Agreement (the "Agreement”) is between you and ZigZag, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) established in the Netherlands (KvK 57186898), Newtonlaan 112, 5223 DX ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands (“ZigZag”, “we”, “us”). It applies to the FileUtils software (the “Software”) obtained directly from ZigZag or from an authorized reseller. By installing or using the Software, or by clicking “Agree”, you accept this Agreement. If you do not accept it, do not install or use the Software.
If you obtained the Software from the Mac App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies instead of this Agreement.
1. Trial Use
You may use the Software free of charge to evaluate it. During the first 30 days, the Software is fully functional. After that, it keeps working, but it occasionally shows a reminder asking you to purchase a license, and you may have to wait a few seconds before you can continue.
2. License
When you purchase a license, ZigZag grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use the Software, subject to this Agreement. The license is personal: it is for one person, who may install and use the Software on the Macs they own or control, up to five Macs. If other people use the Software, each of them needs their own license.
Your license key is personal. Do not share or publish it.
You may transfer your license to another person, provided that you stop using the Software, remove it from your Macs, and inform us at the address in section 12. The new owner must accept this Agreement.
3. Updates and Upgrades
Updates within the same major version of the Software are free. Future major versions may be offered as paid upgrades, possibly at a discount. Your license for the version you purchased never expires, whether or not you upgrade.
4. Restrictions
Except as expressly allowed by this Agreement or by applicable law, you may not:
(a) distribute, sell, rent, lend, or sublicense the Software or license keys;
(b) circumvent the license check or the purchase reminders, or create, distribute, or use unauthorized license keys;
(c) modify, decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the Software, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
(d) remove or alter any copyright or other proprietary notices in the Software.
5. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. ZigZag owns the Software and all intellectual property rights in it, and it is protected by copyright law and international treaties. All rights not expressly granted to you in this Agreement are reserved by ZigZag.
6. Purchase and Refunds
Licenses are sold through an authorized reseller (currently FastSpring), which acts as the seller of record. The reseller’s terms apply to payment, taxes, and invoicing.
If you are not satisfied with the Software, you can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase, with no questions asked. Contact us at the address in section 12. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
7. Privacy
The Software does not collect any personal data, and it does not send any to us or to third parties. It only connects to the network when you work with files on network volumes and when it checks for or downloads updates. An update check sends no personal data. As with any connection on the internet, the update server receives your IP address in order to respond; we do not use it to identify you. Administrator passwords that you enter for privileged operations are handled entirely by macOS and are never seen by the Software. For more information about how we handle data from purchases and from our website, see our privacy policy.
8. Your Files
The Software copies, moves, renames, compresses, changes, and deletes files and folders on your instructions. Some operations, such as secure deletion, cannot be undone. Make sure you have current backups of your data before you use the Software.
9. Warranty
We work hard to make the Software reliable, but we cannot guarantee that it is free of errors or that it works without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, the Software is provided “as is”, without any warranties beyond those that apply by law. If you are a consumer, nothing in this Agreement limits your statutory rights, including your rights when the Software does not conform to this Agreement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, ZigZag is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of profit, and business interruption, and ZigZag’s total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your license. These limitations do not apply to damages caused by ZigZag’s intent or gross negligence, or to any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
11. Termination
You may end this Agreement at any time by removing the Software from your Macs. If you materially breach this Agreement, your license ends automatically, and you must stop using the Software and remove it. Sections 5, 9, 10, and 13 remain in effect after the Agreement ends.

13. Governing Law and Disputes
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Netherlands. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings before the courts of that country, while we can bring proceedings against you only in those courts.
14. Changes and Translations
We may update this Agreement for future versions of the Software. The version that comes with a version of the Software applies to that version. If this Agreement is provided in other languages, the English version prevails in case of any discrepancy, to the extent permitted by law.
